You and I are the Government
Whenever I hear or read ‘the government’, I replace ‘the government’ with ‘you and I’ and see if the statement still makes sense. For example, ‘The goverment wants to allow criminals in prison to go free due to budget constraints.’ Do you and I want criminals freed? Doubtful. Try it next time you read the newspaper or watch TV News.
